From 22 to 24 April 2026, the 16th China International Road Traffic Safety Products Expo was held at the Nanjing International Expo Center. Since its establishment in 2004, it has become an important indicator in the global road traffic safety field. This year’s expo focused on the theme of ‘New Quality Power in Traffic,’ and Yu Heng Optoelectronics turned its attention to the outdoor exhibition area, showcasing a solution for off-grid scenarios—the P1-EYE PLUS series of solar mobile monitoring trailers. The outdoor environment provided a natural stress test for validating the product’s performance.
Addressing visitors’ concerns about stability, the gusty winds and rainy conditions at the expo site served as a real-world performance test. When the Yu Heng team raised the 9-metre mast, beyond the 117km/h wind resistance limit provided by the hot-dip galvanising process, what really caught the attention of visitors was the ‘adaptive’ logic: the built-in IoT system automatically folds the 1800W solar panels and lowers the centre of gravity when wind speeds exceed safe limits. This self-protective capability eased many customers’ worries about potential damage in unmanned scenarios.
Deployment efficiency was one of the most frequently mentioned topics on-site. Traditional monitoring solutions often require lengthy trenching or generator support, but the P1-EYE PLUS demonstrated remarkable mobility. Thanks to the integrated electric brake system and compact chassis design, a single person was able to complete the entire process from towing to deployment in just 10 minutes. This means that for time-sensitive demands like traffic accident investigation or temporary roadwork, safety assurance is no longer constrained by power lines but moves with demand.
Sustainable energy was another key focus on-site. To address off-grid concerns, the device uses a mechanically adjustable structure with three dual-sided solar panels totalling 1800W, showing a biological ‘sun-tracking’ feature. Efficient energy supply supports a 12KWh battery pack operating stably between -20°C and 50°C, creating a power loop even in areas with no infrastructure.

During the exhibition, the P1-EYE PLUS demonstrated not just hardware specifications but also a reconstruction of commercial logic. A commonly overlooked detail is that through compact structure optimisation, a single 40HQ container can hold 14 units, cutting cross-regional transport costs by 50%. This full-chain consideration from performance to cost provides a solid economic foundation for large-scale, intensive deployment.
Based on real-world applications at the expo, Yu Heng Optoelectronics is conveying a clear logic with this green, intelligent and mobile technology platform: when energy is self-sufficient and equipment can ‘self-protect,’ safety boundaries are no longer determined by cables but by demand.
